DHI Water & Environment and mminternational extend
the cooperation to a new level

DHI, the world's leading water environment technology provider, and mminternational, a leading weather services company have agreed to expand their cooperation. DHI's German subsidiary and mminternational have cooperated for more than 10 years in forecasts for hydro power plants servicing jointly some leading energy companies.
With the recent expansion of mminternational into the Asian markets, DHI Water & Environment (S) Pte Ltd. and mminternational (International) Ltd. Hong Kong, have explored several areas where joining hydrological and meteorological expertise and services in weather forecasts and hydrological modelling. The collaboration will combine individual strengths to provide high quality products and services for the Asian markets and beyond.
DHI and mminternational will offer a bundle of real time products combining DHI's water software MIKE and MIKE Customised with mminternational's real time products in the field of weather forecasting based on mminternational's extensive network of weather stations, in-house worldwide forecasting models, and superior data processing capability. Furthermore mminternational's climate database will allow DHI to enhance its consultancy services in general.
The focus will initially be on consultancy and real time products in respect;
- hydro electric power plant optimisation,
- flood forecasting (and alerts),
- products and services for waste water treatment,
- port and coastal zone management,
- offshore infrastructure management,
- and other marine related fields.
On top of that, the DHI and mminternational collaboration will provide new content for their respective online and mobile products. Historical data and analysis will be sold through webshops and other portals operated by the companies.
mminternational will open a new data processing center in Manila in May for an efficient and fast delivery of the services especially for the Asian markets.
Dr. Ole Larsen, Director development of DHI, stresses the technological advantages of the cooperation: "Water management and forecast relies on the timely delivery of accurate meteorological data. With this new collaboration we can enhance our forecasts with a new level of detail in the underlying meteorological data that drives our hydrological models.
